Treehouse garnered enough funding to provide school photos for 41 children living in foster care.
The following post is a project update from Nick Gauna, Campaign Organizer for the West Coast and Pacific Northwest, and the Treehouse Grassroots campaign that raised $830 for Back to School Photos for Foster Children in Treehouse’s Little Wishes Program.
Seattle – I received a note from Lindsay, Development Director at Treehouse, about our campaign that ran in September of 2011.
From Lindsay Van Marbod, Treehouse:
“The Grassroots (formerly G-Team) and Groupon customers were critical in providing foster kids with an essential back-to-school experience: school pictures. When foster kids leave home, they often lose important links to their past, such as photos of friends, family, and loved ones. Leaving home can mean losing a sense of identity. While school photos can’t restore what’s lost, they can help kids build a new sense of self for the future. Your support gave more than 30 Treehouse kids student the chance to remember who they are!”
Thanks to Lindsay for the kind words and photo update.
